How many of you have tried to connect one of these Mercedes-Sprinters
to the OBDII diagnostic machine? But you find this,
first generation OBD. You'll be scratching your head and asking, WTF?🤷 And the search on the Internet begins, adapters like these
I have not yet found an adapter that works with the sprinter. And if there is one, then you can save yourself work 😸
Yep...you've already received the adapter you ordered online, plug it into the Sprinter it is easy,
Connect your scan tool AND....NOTHING. 😵!! The scan tols cannot connect to the Sprinter.!!
Now what? Googling and googling what's going on?, ... everyone on Google is contacting their sprinter, but only you are not ... what's going on? Now you decide to buy diagnostics only for the MERCEDES brand. ( Yes and no!!)
They buy the new diagnostic machine and,
NOTHING..... ahhh!😡😡 what is happening?
Now, comes the solution.😎
* First. you need to make sure all your fuses are in good condition.
*Second. You need an adapter like in the previous image or you can go to the dealer and pull out an OBDii plug
*Third. Your scan tool should contain the exact model of your Sprinter.
Once you have everything you need, you can start modifying your Sprinter.
#Cut the adapter you purchased into two pieces.
Use paper tape, and number the cables on the obd adapter as marked in the picture
In some cases some OBD pins are empty, without cable, as in my case. Pin 15 of my obd did not have a cable, so I had to make a hole and solder a cable. If something similar happens to you too, here are some photos how you can solve the problem.
Now that all the wires are numbered, it's time to move on to the vehicle. There we will have to cut the cables from the OBD plug of our Sprinter
If you look closely each wire is also numbered, so make sure you read the diagram well before soldering
As you can see there are a lot of cables here too, each color of the cable must be cut and preferably soldered to the OBD2 adapter!! rather than enveloping them.

(!!! DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND CUT THE WIRES ONE BY ONE!!!!)
You don't need to cut all the wires! In this image you can see the cables you will need from the Sprinter to the OBD2 plug
In the end, you should get something like this
good
